The brilliant new full-length trailer for Ang Lee’s Life of Pi was released this week, giving us another astounding look at what is promising to be a film of epic scale.

And now an excellent new UK poster has made its way online, similar to the US one-sheet we saw last month, but featuring here a mosaic made up of tiny images from the film.

“Director Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) creates a groundbreaking movie event about a young man who survives a tragic disaster at sea and is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While marooned on a lifeboat, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with the ship’s only other survivor — a fearsome Bengal tiger.”

Newcomer Suraj Sharma takes the lead in the coming epic drama, supported by Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Rafe Spall (who replaced the previously-expected Tobey Maguire), and Gérard Depardieu, with Lee directing from a script by Oscar-nominated David Magee (Finding Neverland), who adapts the critically acclaimed novel by Yann Martel.

Life of Pi will be released in 3D in the US on 21st November, following its debut this weekend at the NYFF. It will then be heading our way on 21st December, for a solid Christmas opening as outlined by this great new poster. We’ve still got a few months to go, but it looks like it’s going to be very much worth it. For now, here’s the new poster, which you can click to enlarge.
