Aubrey Plaza was nothing short of immense in Safety Not Guaranteed this summer, and her return to the big screen can’t come fast enough.

She has a handful of films on her slate at the moment, and now CBS Films have released the first red-band trailer for The To Do List, previously titled The Hand Job, and it is brilliant.

“Starring Aubrey Plaza, THE TO DO LIST follows the story of Brandy Klark (Plaza), a Type-A, overachiever who comes up with a “to-do list” featuring all the risqué extra-curricular activities she missed out on in high school and wants to complete before college. Rachel Bilson, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Scott Porter, Connie Britton, Clark Gregg, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Glover, Johnny Simmons, Sarah Steele and Alia Shawkat co-star in the film.”

As you can see from the synopsis above, Plaza is joined by an absolutely fantastic supporting cast, headed up by Rachel Bilson, Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Scott Porter, Connie Britton, Clark Gregg, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Donald Glover, Johnny Simmons, Sarah Steele and the ever-brilliant Alia Shawkat.

Maggie Carey, who jointly won the SXSW Audience Award for her documentary Ladyporn back in 2001, is making her feature debut behind the camera, directing from her own script, and it looks like it’s going to be one of the best debuts of next year.

The To Do List will be released in the US on 14th February, 2013, making it the perfect Valentine’s Day film if you’re feeling a more comedic than straightforward romantic night at the movies. No word yet on a UK release, but I’m keeping my fingers tightly crossed, because this looks awesome. As you can imagine from the original title, this trailer is strictly red-band, so entirely unsuitable for work. Enjoy.
