Milla Jovovich returns to the big screen next month in Resident Evil: Retribution, the latest instalment in the incredibly successful action/horror franchise.

We caught two new TV spots from the film last week, introducing old and new friends alike, and now a new featurette taking us behind the scenes has debuted over at Yahoo Movies.

“The Umbrella Corporation’s deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race’s last and only hope, Alice, awakens in the heart of Umbrella’s most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.”

Paul W.S. Anderson is back behind the camera once more, directing from his own script, with Jovovich supported by a great cast, headed up by Sienna Guillory, Johann Urb, Boris Kodjoe, Bingbing Li, and a brilliant surprise return from Michelle Rodriguez, who starred (and seemingly died) in 2002’s first Resident Evil.

Resident Evil: Retribution will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D on 14th September in the US, followed two weeks later on 28th September here in the UK. It really does look epic in scale, and as a big fan of the films so far, I can’t wait to see how Retribution plays out.
