Award-winning Canadian writer-director Ruba Nadda (Cairo Time) returns to the Toronto International Film Festival next month with her latest feature film, Inescapable.

The film stars Alexander Siddig (Cairo Time, 24), Joshua Jackson (Fringe), and Marisa Tomei (The Ides of March) in the leads, and now Alliance Films have released the first trailer, ahead of its TIFF premiere in a few weeks’ time.

“Alexander Siddig, Joshua Jackson and Marisa Tomei star in this taut thriller about a man whose daughter disappears in Damascus, forcing him to return to the country he left behind more than three decades ago.”

Nadda is directing from her own script, with Daniel Iron (Away from Her) and Lance Samuels (The Bang Bang Club) producing.

Inescapable will be debuting at the TIFF next month, before opening in Toronto on 14th September. No word yet on if/when it will reach UK and US shores, but this trailer certainly looks promising, so hopefully a positive reception next month will pave the way for release beyond Canada.
