Venus and Serena Williams are two of the most well-known names in the game of tennis, still going strong today – quite literally, competing in this year’s Olympics together.
Director Maiken Baird (Client 9) was granted an intimate access into their lives through a difficult year in 2011. Her documentary, Venus & Serena, is heading to the Toronto International Film Festival this September, and now we’ve got a new image from the film giving us a look at the two sisters.
“An intimate documentary that takes us inside the lives of tennis superstars Venus and Serena Williams, during a year when debilitating injuries and life-threatening illness threatened to take them out of the game once and for all.”
Judging by the film’s website, we can also look forward to some pretty impressive cameos, including the likes of President Bill Clinton, Chris Rock, and the great John McEnroe, so it certainly holds a lot of promise.
Venus & Serena will be debuting at Toronto this September, where it will be seeking, and no doubt find, distribution. As usual with this new look at the sisters, you can click to enlarge.
