Ariel Vorman’s crime-thriller The Iceman is amongst the top of the most anticipated films heading to the Toronto International Film Festival this year.

Michael Shannon takes the lead as the eponymous Iceman, Richard Kuklinski, and starring alongside him will be Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, and Winona Ryder.

A new batch of images has made now its way online, to go with our first look at Michael Shannon (included below), giving us our first look at some of the other main players.

“Academy Award® nominee Michael Shannon stars alongside a stellar supporting cast — including Winona Ryder, Ray Liotta and Chris Evans — in the story of real-life mob hit-man Richard “The Iceman” Kuklinski, who was reportedly responsible for over 200 murders.”

Interestingly, Chris Evans was set to replace James Franco in the film, and yet the festival’s site still lists Franco as part of the film, so we’re naturally looking forward to seeing if he’s taken a smaller role instead.

The Iceman will be debuting at Toronto this September, and we can’t wait for it to head to the big screen, hopefully early next year. It sounds like it should be pretty brilliant. As usual with these first look images, you can click to enlarge.
