Daniel Craig returns once more to the big screen this year in Skyfall, taking the lead as James Bond that we all know and love him for.

The few things we’ve seen so far have been very encouraging, with an awesome first teaser trailer landing back in May. Sony took a longer look at the film to Comic-Con earlier this month, and whilst the footage is still yet to surface, rumour has it that it was really, really good.

After giving us a look at Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 last week, Sony have now released a hi-res version of an image of Craig that surfaced a little while back, looking pretty much the definition of nonchalant.

“In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”

Starring alongside Craig will be an impressive cast, headed up by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, and Dame Judi Dench.

Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes (American Beauty) is behind the camera, directing from a script co-written by Bond-frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Coriolanus).

Skyfall will be released in regular and IMAX theatres in the UK on 26th October, before heading to the US a little later on 9th November. Everyone has their own favourite Bond, and mine is Daniel Craig, so I’m naturally expecting nothing but good things from this. As usual with this new hi-res image, you can click to enlarge.
