We caught the great first red-band trailer for For a Good Time, Call… last month, and now Focus Features have released a more work-suitable trailer for the R-rated comedy.
The film stars Ari Graynor and Lauren Miller in the leads, with support from Justin Long, Mark Webber, and My Big Fat Greek Wedding’s Nia Vardalos, with cameos from the ever-brilliant Seth Rogen (Miller’s husband) and Mimi Rogers.
“About to be homeless in New York City, enemies Katie and Lauren concede to living together. At first it’s war– Lauren’s hair dangles on the bathroom soap and Katie’s orgasms can be heard from down the hall. But when the girls team up to start their own dirty hotline, a genuine friendship is forged through fake orgasms. Before they know it, Katie is training Lauren how to moan like a pro, lie about what underwear she’s actually wearing and admit that she’ll lick anything. Through a romance with a caller and Lauren’s phone-sexual awakening, the girls learn that just because someone pees in your hair in college, doesn’t mean they won’t change your life ten years later.”
Jamie Travis makes his feature directorial debut, with a script co-written by Miller and newcomer Katie Anne Naylon.
The film debuted at Sundance earlier this year to great reactions, after which it was acquired by the great Focus Features, whose roster this year includes Moonrise Kingdom, Anna Karenina, Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, ParaNorman, and Hyde Park on Hudson – not too bad at all.
For a Good Time, Call… will be released in select cities in the US on 31st August before opening nationally on 7th September. No word yet on a UK release, but hopefully that will soon change – Rogen’s involvement is more than enough to guarantee my movie ticket.
