Alex Cross posterStarring Tyler Perry as the eponymous Alex Cross, a role previously played by Morgan Freeman, this new adaptation of James Patterson’s series of books is looking pretty awesome.

We got eight first-look images from the film last month, showing off a Matthew Fox absolutely ripped to the teeth, and now the first poster has debuted over at Moviefone.

The tagline is a little cheesy – ‘Don’t Ever Cross Alex Cross’ – but the Perry/Fox combination with the city backdrop looks pretty awesome.

“After Washington DC detective Alex Cross is told that a family member has been murdered, he vows to track down the killer. He soon discovers that she was not his first victim and that things are not what they seem.”

The Fast and the Furious’ Rob Cohen is behind the camera, with a script co-written by Marc Moss (Along Came a Spider) and Kerry Williamson, adapting Patterson’s 2006 novel, Cross.

Previously titled I, Alex Cross, the film also stars Ed Burns (Saving Private Ryan), Rachel Nichols (Alias), Jean Reno (Leon), Giancarlo Esposito (The Usual Suspects), and John C. McGinley (Wall Street, Scrubs)

Alex Cross will be released a week earlier than expected in the US on 19th October, and will come to our shores a little later for a 30th November release. It has the potential to be one of the best crime-thrillers of the year, so now’s the time to get excited. As usual with this first poster, you can click to enlarge.

Here’s the trailer and the poster is below.
