Due out next month, Ice Age: Continental Drift sees the return of Manny, Sid, and the gang once more for another prehistoric outing in the incredibly successful franchise for Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox.

With only a month to go, the ad campaign will be pressing up in the coming weeks, and in tandem with that, we’ve got a new US poster, clip, and image from the film to share.

“Scrat’s nutty pursuit of the cursed acorn, which he’s been after since the dawn of time, has world-changing consequences – a continental cataclysm that triggers the greatest adventure of all for Manny, Diego and Sid. In the wake of these upheavals, Sid reunites with his cantankerous Granny, and the herd encounters a ragtag menagerie of seafaring pirates determined to stop them from returning home.”

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaur’s Michael Thurmeier is back behind the camera, co-directing with Steve Martino, and the voice cast consists of the usual great array of actors, heading up by Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Chris Wedge, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Peter Dinklage, Aziz Ansari, Nick Frost, and Alan Tudyk.

Ice Age: Continental Drift will be released in 2D and 3D on 13th July in the UK and US, which puts it a week before The Dark Knight Rises, which could potentially affect its leg weeks. But given that the audience is largely quite different, here’s to hoping that Ice Age will find success at the box office.

The third film, which was the first to be released in 3D, took almost $900m., and the three films have done successively better and better at the box office, which suggests the ever sought-after $1bn.-mark might not be as crazy as it sounds. But with such strong competition coming soon after in The Dark Knight Rises, I have a feeling that Continental Drift might not do as well as its predecessor. We shall see. For now, the new poster, clip, and image to enjoy. As usual with the images, you can click to enlarge.
