The Wreck It Ralph Trailer is now up here!

Inspired by the 8-bit video arcade games we all know and love, Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph is by far one of the most anticipated animated films in development, and ahead of the first trailer due out tomorrow, the studio have put out four brilliant new images of some the film’s main players.

We got our fantastic first look at the 8-bit hero and some of the different gaming worlds in the film back in February, and now we’re getting our first official look at some of the other characters.

John C. Reilly leads the voice cast as the eponymous Wreck-It Ralph, alongside Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Jane Lynch (Glee), and Sarah Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Program).

“Wreck-It Ralph (voice of Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan—win a medal—but soon wrecks everything, and accidently unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?”

Silverman’s character, Vanellope von Schweetz, looks especially brilliant here, alongside Lynch’s Sgt. Calhoun, who looks ready to destroy anything that moves.

Twice Emmy-winning Rich Moore (The Simpsons, Futurama) is behind the camera, and his long history with animation suggests the film is very much in strong hands.

Wreck-It Ralph will be released in 3D in the US on 2nd November this year. Here in the UK, it looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer for its 15th February, 2013. It definitely looks like it’s going to be well worth the wait though. Be sure to check back in tomorrow when the first trailer is expected to hit. And as usual with these great new images, you can click to enlarge.

(The idea of a Grand Central Station dotted with misfit toys is just brilliant. As is the ‘Will npc in fps 4 food!’ sign in the first image below.)
