The first trailer and poster landed for Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation of the classic The Great Gatsby landed this week, wonderfully setting the tone for one of the year’s most highly-anticipated films.
It’s one of the finest trailers I’ve seen in a long time, so if you haven’t seen it yet, I’d recommend doing so now.
Following on from that great first look at the film, its UK Facebook page has put out a lovely new image of Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan sharing a moment of seclusion.

Alongside DiCaprio and Mulligan, we can look forward to the impressive cast headed up by Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke, Elizabeth Debicki, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Luhrmann directs from a script he co-wrote with frequent collaborator Craig Pearce (Moulin Rouge!, Romeo + Juliet), and it looks like the duo have done a remarkable job of bringing what is often heralded is as one of the finest novels of all time to the big screen.
The Great Gatsby will be released in 3D on Christmas Day in the States, before coming a day later for a Boxing Day release here in the UK. Book your tickets early, because I have a feeling this will be selling out quickly, and it will be one we’ll all be talking about at the end of the year. Can you hear the Academy calling?
