Snow White and the Huntsman will finally unfold on the big screen next week, and all we’ve seen from the film so far has been very impressive. Smart money says Universal have a big success on their hands, and quite possibly the first in a franchise.

A new featurette focusing on Charlize Theron’s Queen Ravenna has debuted over at Apple, with Theron herself giving us an insight into the character.

Starring alongside Theron will of course be Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth, with Rupert Sanders making what is sure to be an awesome directorial debut.

“In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar(r) winner Charlize Theron) out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power. The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.”

Hossein Amini (Drive) and Evan Daugherty (also making his debut) have penned the script, and the supporting cast features an impressive array of talent, including Sam Claflin, Nick Frost, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Lily Cole, and Bob Hoskins.

Snow White and the Huntsman will be released in the UK next Wednesday, 30th May, before opening in the US two days later on 1st June. Its Wednesday release here means that it won’t (quite) be going head-to-head against Ridley Scott’s Prometheus on the Friday (which opens a week later in the States), giving you a chance to catch both of the epic blockbusters next week without having to choose between the two. For now, your new look at Theron as the evil Queen.
