Tom Hooper’s return behind the camera after his Oscar-winning The King’s Speech is naturally alight with Oscar buzz, adapting Victor Hugo’s renowned novel, Les Misérables, for the big screen.

The cast is simply fantastic, with Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, and Russell Crowe starring in the leads, and after getting our first look at Crowe and Jackman back in March, we now have a new image from the set, transforming the London location into 19th Century Paris.

Along with Hathaway, Jackman, and Crowe, the film will also star Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, and Samantha Barks, with Hooper directing from William Nicholson’s screenplay.

Les Misérables is due to be released on 14th December this year in the US, placing it in prime position for an Oscar push at the end of this year and the start of next. Here in the UK, it’s set to be released on 11th January, which means we’ll have had plenty of time to see it before the nominations are announced for the best of the best this year. For now, the great new image from the set. As usual, you can click to enlarge.
