Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is quite possibly the longest title of the year, and it also looks like it’s going to be one of my favourite films of 2012. We got a lovely first poster last month, quickly followed by a wonderful first trailer, and now we have a host of new images from the film showcasing all the main characters.

Lorene Scafaria (Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist) makes her directorial debut, directing from her own script, and the cast is fantastic, including Steve Carell and Keira Knightley in the leads, supported by Adam Brody, Melanie Lynskey, Patton Oswalt, William Peterson, Gillian Jacobs, and many more, all of whom we see in these new images.

“Set in a too-near future, a man searches for a meaningful connection as humanity’s last days are at hand. Can he find his greatest love at the worst possible time? As the respective journeys of Dodge and Penny converge, the two spark to each other and their outlooks – if not the world’s – brighten.”

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is set to be released in the US on 22nd June, and we’re still waiting for a UK release date to be announced, but I’m really, really hoping that we’ll be getting it at the same time, because I am in love with what we’ve seen from the movie so far. As usual with these new images, you can click to enlarge.
