In celebration of the weekend’s Academy Awards, brilliant US stand-up comedian Jimmy Kimmel put together an excellent nine-minute ‘trailer’ for Movie: The Movie, an epic film-that-won’t-be-filmed in which we see essentially every actor and actress known to man in a set of terrific skits.

With a genre self-described as ‘a romantically comic political action thriller drama’, it’s a great comedy well worth nine minutes of your time, involving the likes of (this is going to be a long list):

Ryan Phillippe, Jessica Alba, Taylor Lautner, Antonio Banderas, Edward Norton, Josh Brolin, Colin Farrell, Nolan Gould, Guillermo, Charlize Theron, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Jeff Goldblum, Gary Oldman, Cameron Diaz, Samuel L. Jackson, J.J. Abrams, Martin Scorsese, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Jessica Biel, Jason Bateman, Kevin James, Tyler Perry, John Goodman, Kate Beckinsale, Chewbacca, Danny DeVito, Don Cheadle, Meryl Streep, Helen Mirren, Christoph Waltz, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Gabourey Sidibe, and ‘introducing’ Jimmy Kimmel himself, with music by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.

And to go with it, he’s also put together a fantastic making-of video, itself wonderfully named, ‘Making the Movie: The Making of Movie: The Movie’. It’s definitely a must-watch addition to the trailer itself. Real-life husband and wife John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are terrific opposite each other, and just everything about both videos is brilliant.

Kimmel describes the film as,  “The biggest, most star-studded trailer for a non-existent film ever made,” and he’s definitely not wrong. Enjoy.
