We’ve seen plenty of brilliant things from Gary Ross’ upcoming adaptation of The Hunger Games, the first novel in Suzanne Collins’ original trilogy, most recently getting three new viral motion posters, as well as a fantastic second trailer at the start of the month.

We now have another awesome new poster promoting the film’s IMAX release, via IMP Awards, as well as a host of great new character images, courtesy of the film’s official website, via Examiner, as well as one shot of what looks to be Jennifer Lawrence facing her destiny from the film’s Facebook page.

“Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the evil Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains. Pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives, Katniss is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 16 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following.”

Along with Jennifer Lawrence in the lead as Katniss Everdeen, the film has a great supporting cast that includes Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Stanley Tucci, Donald Sutherland, Isabelle Fuhrman, Willow Shields, Lenny Kravitz, Amandla Stenberg, and the awesome Wes Bentley, who will be rocking one of the coolest beards you’ve ever seen, as you can see from the final image below.

The Hunger Games will be with us on 23rd March both here and in the US, so we’ve got only just over a month to go before it finally arrives in our local cinemas. For now, here are the great new images and the new IMAX poster, which you can click to enlarge. And for all of the rest of our coverage of the film, you can click right here.
