Earlier today, we posted news that the sequel to the 2010 movie Piranha would not be getting theatrical release in the UK. Well, fear not UK audience as we’ve just heard news from its UK Distributors Entertainment Film that the movie WILL get a UK theatrical release. This news follows that from the US stating that it too will get a theatrical release.
Here’s a snippet of the email for confirmation from a representative at EFD:
We would like to assure everyone that Piranha 3DD will not be going straight to DVD in the U.K. as mistakenly reported. We will be giving Piranha 3DD a full theatrical release and the film will not be released on DVD until the usual window post U.K. theatrical release.
I have to admit, I’m rather pleased with this news as I really enjoyed the first one and was very much up for a second in 3D. I actually wanted the original movie yesterday and can’t wait to see the second on the big screen. More as we get it.
