With principal photography well underway and enough footage cobbled together to give us an intriguing but ultimately dissatisfying teaser trailer, The Dark Knight Rises is going to continue to attract attention until its release next summer and we will no doubt be forced to feed on scraps until well into 2012, if Nolan’s previous marketing and publicity approach is anything to go by.

So, for now, it is nothing but more casting news on the meagre menu, as we hear that Christopher Judge (Stargate’s assorted TV iterations) has joined the crew. Judge announced this through his Twitter feed and given both the 140 character limit and Nolan’s tight like a tiger tight-lipped approach, we have literally nothing else to say beyond the bare news. As ComicBookMovie.com rightly say, the cast is already star-packed and it therefore makes it unlikely that he would have a big role, but then his considerable physical presence might mark him out as a possible right-hand man for Tom Hardy’s hefty-looking Bane, or something similar.

We’ll let you know as soon as we hear more, which might be a while.

Thanks to CBM for the heads up.
