All those of you who are excited for Peter Jackson’s new movie, The Hobbit are going to absolutely love this. He’s been promising to do a video diary for a week or two now giving us a walk round the set of the movie for a little while and not long ago via his Facebook Fan page, he has released the video which I’ve embedded below.

In the video he walks us round the stage and talks about what it’s like to be back along with some of the info on the pre-production on the movie. We get to see some of the weapons, the weapon training, the horse riding and stunt work plus SO much more. We also get to see loads of set design which they have reconstructed to be identical to The Lord of the Rings. It’s so awesome to see it all in place once again.

You’re absolutely going to love this and all credit to Peter Jackson for taking us into the treasure troves which are The Hobbit set. You’ll notice much of what you’ll see in the background is blurred out for obvious reasons. We get to see much of the cast including an impromptu interview the Sir Ian McKellen which moves us nicely onto the first day of shooting and the introduction to the set with all the cast and crew ending with speech from the legend himself. Director Peter Jackson.

This really is an unprecedented inside look into the making of a movie while it’s still so very much being made. I can’t tell you how much I think you should watch this video! It’s 10 minutes long so get a cup of tea and watch it in full. LOVE IT!

Jackson says he’s going to be doing many more of these video diaries over the next few years and we can’t wait to see more of them.
