Ridley Scott’s Prometheus to Film in the UK @ Pinewood Studios

Ridley Scott’s new movie, Prometheus is growing traction with every passing day with casting news coming out of ours ears but what we want to know is, where is the movie going to shoot?

US movie trade magazine, The Hollywood Reporter recently ran an article saying that Scott’s new feature, is to shoot at Pinewood Studios, Toronto but Ridley Scott has been talking with The Daily Mail to reveal that the movie will film at Pinewood Studios in London, specifically on the huge 007 Stage as well as six other sound stages.

Pinewood recently hosted Jerry Bruckheimer / Disney’s new movie, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Martin Scorsese’s Hugo Cabret and is raising it’s profile all the time. Just a couple of weeks ago, the UK’s biggest studio revealed that they would be starting to invest in new UK film as well as opening a new office in the Dominican Republic called ‘Caribbean Office – ‘Pinewood Indomina Studios’.

This is fantastic news for the UK film industry with yet another big budget movie coming to our small island. It’s so great to see the likes of Captain America, Spielberg’s War Horse, Scorsese’s Hugo Cabret and countless others all being shot right here.

    My understanding is that they are shooting 3 weeks in Toronto but then will also shoot in UK. H.R. Giger is supervising and he does not fly. He worked on the original Alien in the UK. Prometheus will film in the UK… But I’m pretty sure it’s filming in Toronto now else why would it be reported? That sure would be a big fail on the part of the report which states that the film has already quietly slipped in and will film for 3 weeks.

    The movie is supposedly a grueling 6 month shoot.
    The Toronto section must only be a small part of the film.
    It’s only shooting for 3 weeks and people are still being cast!
    I assume the part that takes place at the Toronto shoot involves
    only the characters who have been cast so far.
    It’s also probably not the Space Jockey set as Giger needs to be involved
    and can only do that from Europe where flying is not required.
    Who knows what is actually at Toronto? Ridley is using everything!
    I assume it’s a smaller (yet still probably epic) part of the film.
    Who knows, it may even be an Earth based set – Rumor has it that
    the coordinates to Zeta2 Reticuli are discovered on Earth.
    The Toronto set could just be a futuristic Earth lab or some shit.
    Why? Because I don’t think any of the big star actors are in Toronto.
    It’s just probably 2nd unit shit and non main characters… Prob scientists.
