Zooey Deschanel (My Idiot Brother) is in negotiations to star in a new untitled single-camera comedy pilot from writer-producer Liz Meriwether.
The untitled ensemble comedy is set up at 20th Century Fox and studio-based Chernin Entertainment.
The Liz Meriwether project, formally titled Chicks and Dicks, centers on Jessica (Deschanel), an optimistic but unlucky in love elementary school teacher who, after her most recent break-up, moves out of her apartment with her ex and moves in with three juvenile guys.
Deschanel will next be seen in the medieval stoner comedy Your Highness, alongside James Franco (127 Hours), Danny McBride (Pineapple Express) and Natalie Portman (Black Swan).
