Michael Fassbender Join’s Ridley Scott’s Prometheus

Rising star Michael Fassbender (who will soon be seen lending his considerable talents to the role of young Magneto in X-Men: First Class) is heading back into the world of fantasy cinema, having snagged a role in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus.

He’ll join the already-cast Noomi Rapace in project which started life as an intended prequel to Alien until it evolved into another sci-fi tale. Fassbender (cast in the role of an android here) was originally offered the role last year when it was still in that first initial stage.

Like ‘X-Men’, this is another big summer film (it’s due for release state-side on 8th June 2012) which will no doubt propel the 33 year-old into the Hollywood big league.
