ScreenDaily have announced that Pedro Almodovar will next direct Mina, a biopic about the life of the Italian singer.
The film will be based on a novel by Paolo Limiti, and will center on a talented singer who stirred up controversy when she had a child with a married man, forcing her to withdraw from the public eye in the late 1970s.
Marisa Paredes (All About My Mother, Talk To Her, The Skin That I Inhabit) is expected to be cast as the controversial musician.
Almodovar’s next film, The Skin That I Inhabit, is currently in post-production, and is likely to premiere at Cannes in May.
