David O. Russell’s pugilistic drama could possibly be a contender for Oscar glory and it’s doing very well with the critics who have held it up against Raging Bull and have singled out Christian Bale and Melissa Leo for award success.
Bale and Leo star alongside Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams in this true story of a boxer and his trainer overcoming the seduction and subsequent ravages of a life of addiction to drugs and crime to become world champion.
So far we’ve seen some attractive, if formulaic, trailers and posters for the film and there’s another one below to entice you into the cinemas to catch this one when it rolls into UK cinemas on the 4th of February next year.
