Matt Damon seems to be keen to keep himself busy. He has already had Green Zone out this year and his second collaboration with Clint Eastwood, Hereafter, is up next. He has wrapped True Grit for the Coens, Margaret and Philip K Dick adap The Adjustment Bureau and is now filming Contagion for Steven Soderbergh before apparently intending to move onto We Bought A Zoo  and a Liberace biopic. Whew!

After all that you would think he would fancy a lie down, but I guess when you’re hungry for work, you take the opportunities you can. Accordingly, Damon is apparently in talks to appear in Neill Blomkamp’s follow-up to the sensational District 9, Elysium. Sharlto Copley, so affecting and impressive in District 9, will appear in Elysium as well.

Nothing much is known of the film, other than it will be another entry in the sci-fi genre, this time set in the future on another world. Media Rights Capital are producing the film and once they have the principal cast in place (hopefully including Damon), they will venture into the market place in search of a distributor.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
