Hitfix has come in with a belter this morning to morning to announce that Disney will be making yet another 2 Pirates of the Caribbean movies back to back after the fourth movie (titled Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) is released in May 2011.

They bring the news that:

Disney has begun quietly telling cast and crew to set aside a major block of time in the very near future so they can shoot “Pirates 5” and “Pirates 6.”  And, yes, once again, they will be shooting them back-to-back as one giant film, and then they’ll release them as two films.

No news yet on who may direct (I guess if the fourth movie does well, Rob Marshall could take the reigns) but we’ll obviously keep you posted.

What do you think of this news? Something you’d be up for? Personally, I’d like to see how the fourth movies goes before jumping into yet another two. What are your thoughts on the matter? Tell us in the comments section below.
