Collider recently interviewed Rosario Dawson, ostensibly about her role in Tony Scott’s Unstoppable, but also about a number of other seemingly unrelated subjects.

In the course of the interview, Dawson declared herself to be a Trekkie (I thought the term was now “Trekker” but maybe I’m just being a nerd) and said that she wanted to be in the upcoming Star Trek sequel.

She said she is discreetly petitioning JJ Abrams and would be happy to play a Klingon or anything else that is going. She even threw in a Klingon phrase, which shows a certain level of commitment.

Interestingly, other Hollywood stars with closet Trek-love have managed to squeeze themselves into the films before. Christian Slater popped up in Star Trek VI and director Bryan Singer had a brief cameo in Star Trek: Nemesis, so maybe Dawson will be able to shoe-horn herself in.

You can catch the rest of the video below, including an interesting tale of Christopher Walken’s red-carpet wardrobe.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
