ComingSoon report that Disney•Pixar premiered their latest Cars short, “Heavy Metal Mater” on the US Disney Channel last Friday.
Co-directed by Rob Gibbs and no less than Cars creator and Pixar-head John Lasseter, Heavy Metal Mater’s synopsis runs as follows:-
Mater is a rock star in a heavy metal band. He starts out in a garage band and rises to the top with his hit song, “Dad Gum.” Lightning McQueen joins him on stage in the middle of a huge concert and they rock into history.
On November 2nd, all nine “Cars Toons” shorts will be released on DVD and Blu-ray. Of those nine, Heavy Metal Mater is the seventh to be showcased by Disney•Pixar so far.
