Vertigo have just sent us this rather nice behind the scenes featuretter for the Gareth Edwards directed movie, Monsters. The movie stars Whitney Able, Scoot McNairy and is scheduled for release in the UK 3rd December. We got to see the movie quite a while ago and you can read our review of it here.

Synopsis: Six years ago NASA discovered the possibility of alien life within our solar system. A probe was launched to collect samples, but crashed upon re-entry over Central America. Soon after, new life forms began to appear there and half of Mexico was quarantined as an INFECTED ZONE. Today, the American and Mexican military still struggle to contain “the creatures”…

Our story begins when a US journalist agrees to escort a shaken American tourist through the infected zone in Mexico to the safety of the US border.

I love this little featurette. The way it was shot so simply. Edwards talks about just himself, his two actors, sound man and translator and ‘just shooting the film’. He talks about travelling through Mexico,  to Belize, to Guatemala and then shooting in Texas. He describes it as ‘a Monster Movie, wrapped inside a love story, set in a road movie in a post apocalyptic world in Central America’.

Role on December!
