Angelina Jolie to Star in ITV Movie Remake – Unforgiven?

News has come through from Deadline that frequent Scorsese/DiCaprio collaborator Graham King is set to produce a feature adaptation of the 2009 UK miniseries Unforgiven. British readers who may not be aware of this programme may be interested to know that the original version was screened on ITV.

Whatever next? A Hollywood remake of A Touch of Frost starring Al Pacino?

The miniseries was a three-part drama about a woman newly released from prison after serving 15 years for murder and attempting to re-adjust to life outside, while avoiding the two sons of one of her victims who are planning their revenge.

I didn’t see this when it was broadcast, but there must be the potential to do something interesting here as The Usual Suspects scribe, Christopher McQuarrie (who was one of the writers on the upcoming Jolie and Johnny Depp thriller The Tourist) has been tapped to write this version.

We’ll keep you updated when we hear word of a director being attached.
