Adrien Body (Predators, The Pianist) has officially signed on to star in The Detachment.

The film, which is set up at Paper Street Films, will be directed by Tony Kaye (American History X), and exec produced by Greg Shapiro and Peter Sterling.

Brody, who’s co-stars will include Christina Hendricks (Middle Men), Blythe Danner (The Last Kiss), James Caan (The Godfather) and Marcia Gay Harden (Whip It), will portray Henry Barthes, a high school teacher.

Synopsis: The Detachment will depict three weeks in the lives of high school teachers, administrators and students through the eyes of Henry Barthes (Brody).

The Detachment is currently filming on location in Long Island and Queens. ICM will handle the distribution rights for North America.
