Having seriously whet the appetite of every geek throughout the land with the all-star line-up of actors at Comic Con last month, SuperHeroHype brings news that Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios have a February 2011 start dated planned for their superhero team-up.
Joining Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man and his SHIELD crew (Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg) are a newly cast Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Chris Evans as Captain America and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. Buffy and Firefly/Serenity creator Joss Whelden is on directing duties.
The Avengers is scheduled for release in summer 2012, following the introduction of Thor and Captain America in their own stand-alone films, due in 2011.
