Thanks to our friends from Upbeat for passing this rather exciting news exclusively to us.

Producer Avi Lerner confirmed that the project is ready to be greenlit as soon as next week if the movie’s opening weekend proves to be dynamite.

Talking to Upbeat Productions’ Filmbeat at the film’s UK premiere on Monday night he exclusively revealed: “We all want to do it, we are already working on it and I’m ready to go. Everyone had such a great time making this. I have done over 350 movies in my life and this is definitely the biggest.”

“We will wait until Monday and see what the (box office) numbers are like but I am pretty confident right now that we will be back and work is already underway (on a sequel). Why not? I know everyone in this would like to do another and I know that I would.”

He added: “We want to line up even more big names next time round and we are already thinking about who to ask.”

Director, co-writer and one of the stars of the film, Sylvester Stallone, added: “Finally Arnold (Schwarzenegger) and I get to star together on the big screen after years of trying to get him to do it. I see him for lunch every Saturday and every Saturday we talked about it and finally he agreed to be in this with me but I was like, ‘Why the heck couldn’t you have just said Yes when we were a lot younger? But okay let’s do it’ and here we are… and it would be great to do it again, absolutely. I hope so.”
