Hollywood Reporter are, erm, reporting that Elizabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas, Hollow Man) has signed on for House at the End of the Street , an upcoming thriller from director Mark Tonderai.

The film revolves around a teenage girl played by Winter’s Bone star Jennifer Lawrence, who moves into a new home with her mother (Shue) across the street from a house where a double-murder took place. The son of the murdered couple will be played by Max Thieriot (Jumper and Chloe) and in a development that will surely go badly in some respect, he then becomes friends with Lawrence’s character.

Jonathan Mostow (director of Terminator 3, Breakdown and Surrogates) wrote the original story and remains on board as a producer. David Loucka has since drawn up the script, with production of the film set to kick off shortly in Ottowa.

Dave has been writing for HeyUGuys since mid-2010 and has found them to be the most intelligent, friendly, erudite and insightful bunch of film fans you could hope to work with. He's gone from ham-fisted attempts at writing the news to interviewing Lawrence Bender, Renny Harlin and Julian Glover, to writing articles about things he loves that people have actually read. He has fairly broad tastes as far as films are concerned, though given the choice he's likely to go for Con Air over Battleship Potemkin most days. He's pretty sure that 2001: A Space Odyssey is the most overrated mess in cinematic history.
