Momentum Pictures have delivered a new UK trailer for Stephen Frears’ (The Queen) new British comedy, Tamara Drewe. Adapted from the graphic novel written by Posy Simmonds, and amended for screen by Moira Buffini, Tamara Drewe features a mainly British cast, headlined by Gemma Arterton (The Disappearance of Alice Creed). Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia!), Luke Evans (Clash of the Titans), Tamsin Greig (Green Wing), Roger Allam (The Thick of It) and Bill Camp (Public Enemies).

Synopsis: Once a shy and unattractive teenager from a small rural idyll, Tamara’s (Arterton) past catches up with her when she returns to the village and has to face an old flame. With a rock-star boyfriend back in London she gets caught in a love triangle and becomes the focus of gossiping locals.

Tamara Drewe looks like a perfectly quirky, funny and extremely sweet comedy, with a hugely impressive British cast. That said, reviews from Cannes were mixed. However, most critics, including ourselves, praised the films performances, tone and witty dialogue. It’s plenty to get me excited.

Tamara Drewe will be released in the UK on September 10, 2010.
