Gemma Arterton picks her movies very carefully. When I got to meet and interview her a few months ago for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time she talked about how much she enjoyed doing the smaller independent movies as well as the Hollywood blockbusters.
The Disappearance of Alice Creed has been and gone in cinemas in the UK but it’s yet to be released in the US. It’s directed by J Blakeson and as well as Arterton, stars Martin Compston and Eddie Marsan.
It’s not got a release date on DVD yet in the UK but you can sign up for notifications here. The movie is to be released in the US 6th August and ComingSoon.net have got the first five minutes of the movie which I’ve embedded below.
It only had a short run in the UK but I heard very good things about the movie.
