Standing still amidst the flurry of news from Cannes is a difficult prospect, but for those with the inclination to stop and look there’s all sorts of interesting sights to see.
/Film obviously feel the same and they took this shot of an early poster for The Awakening, a period horror which will star Dominic West, Rebecca Hall and Imelda Staunton.
We first reported on the casting for this movie, which is the feature debut of UK director Nick Murphy who wrote the script with HeyUGuys favourite Stephen Volk, and even though this is only a poster it sets up a nicely creepy atmosphere.
And there’s something about the fonts and positioning of the film’s title on this poster (which I’ve captured in the thumbnail) which suggests an early 80s horror vibe. Clearly this is just my interpretation but I’m intrigued by what the stellar cast and the creative collective mind of Murphy and Volk will do to scare our faces off with this one.
