Must Have iPhone Apps for Film Fans

I am in desperate need of an iPhone, it’s not because I am in love with all things Apple as many of my friends (including  Co-Founder of HeyUGuys, Mr. Jon Lyus) are with anything Steve Jobs churns out, no! I am in desperate need because for my job, where I am constantly on the move, and need access to Twitter, Facebook, HeyUGuys and all the other social gubbins that comes along, the iPhone is without doubt the best tool out there for keeping in touch.

The iPhone has revolutionised the way that people in the media industry work. I am on TweetDeck all day on my laptop at home so that I can communicate with you, all our wonderful readers who also subscribe to the short messaging service that has kept us in touch with so many of you.Why haven’t I got one? Mainly because I’m with network provider 3 and they don’t have the iPhone yet even though apparently selected customers have been given one – I am not one they have selected and I’m tied in to them until September. :(

Why am I telling you all this? I’m not really sure, but we’ve been contacted by Recombu.com who have written a great article entitled: ‘App Friday: iPhone apps for film fans’. They’ve put together a definitive list of all the apps that we films fans need to know about if we have an iPhone (and if only i did!).

So, if you have an iPhone and you love films, then head over to Recombu for a full list of apps that you need to download.

Are there any apps they’ve missed? Tell us in the comments below and if anyone can help me with my iPhone problem, you know where I am!!

A couple of film blogs i like don't have dedicated apps in the iTunes store but they do have their sites optimised for the iPhone using plug-ins (e.g. 'wptouch' for WordPress). They are geektyrant.com and slashfilm.com.
You should do the same for heyuguys.co.uk. The plug-in does all the work, you only really need to upload a square logo so it appears on the iPhones screen.

Hi Dave – Have you tried Mifi yet? I just got one today -it's on three but you dont have to have an iphone (they are so expensive). I use my touch with it. I will let you know how it works…

Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to install it now and maybe you could test it for me?

  • funkyjudge

Great. I'll test it out. The square logo you have above on the Facebook ad would be ideal for a logo.

  • funkyjudge

You got it working. Looks good.

Awesome, thanks. Just trying to sort the logo. It doesnt want to let me add it in but i'll make it work!!

  • funkyjudge

The logo i uploaded to my site is a png. file. Don't know if that makes any difference.

    How's that?

  • funkyjudge

Thats it. Great. I now have your logo on my screen.
