Christoph Waltz Runs Away to Join The Circus in Water for Elephants

Only weeks away from the sure thing that is his Best Supporting Actor Oscar win, Christoph Waltz has a new project, which will follow his villainous turn as Chudnofsky in Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet opposite Seth Rogen.

Deadline Hollywood report that Waltz is set to star opposite heart-flutterer Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon in the Francis Lawrence project Water for Elephants.

Centering around the trials and love triangles of a veterinary medical student (our boy Pattinson) who joins a circus only to fall in love with the star performer (Witherspoon), which is not great news for her husband, quoted in the article as a,

dangerous paranoid schizophrenic animal trainer who is as mean to his wife as he is to the circus creatures

This is, of course, the role Waltz has been tipped to play. Lawrence, also an Austrian, previously directed the divisive I Am Legend and Constantine.

Sounds a bit odd to me.

Pattinson plays the protagonist Jacob, Witherspoon is Marlena. Okay so far. Then we have the brutal animal trainer, Marlena's husband August AND the mean and violent circus owner Uncle Al.

Christoph Waltz will play the character of August, the husband? But WHO plays Uncle Al then?

I could imagine that Sean Penn is still in to play August and Waltz plays Uncle Al instead.

Other characters are the dwarf Kinko, the alcoholic Camel and the nurse Rosemary.

Anyway, great news, because of the Waltz-factor.
