Tom Cruise on Board for Mission Impossible 4

Ready to suit up and grab his bag full of rubber faces, Tom Cruise has signed on to reprise his role as Ethan Hunt for Mission Impossible 4.

We knew Cruise was circling a fourth film in the Paramount series, the next big piece of the puzzle will be who steps behind the camera. J.J. Abrams is clearly the first name which springs to mind, and there have been rumours that as well as producing MI4, he would return to direct. Going on what we know from the article at Deadline Hollywood, this won’t be the case as they are looking around for a new director.

Paramount have bought in screenwriters Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec to pen the script, and their plan is to have the film ready for a Memorial day 2011 release (that’s the 30th of May for non US readers – like me) which would put it up against the Hangover sequel.

The series has attracted some substantial talent behind the camera, and while the second film didn’t play out as well as it should have done, the MI series looks set to run.

So, who do you wanted directing Mr Cruise?
