At the end of last year we reported on Duncan Jones’ campaign to get Sam Rockwell an Oscar nomination for his performance in Moon. Since then the petition has received over 3,600 signatures, and has been backed by a host of Hollywood’s great and good.

As the Oscar race begins in earnest, and barely weeks before the nominations are announced for both the BAFTAs and the Oscars, the campaign has just received a welcome boost, in the form of the video, below.

Parodying heart-string-tugging charity adverts perfectly, the video, created by Chris Trevarthen,  features many of the people who have been campaigning for Rockwell to win an Oscar, as well as Moon’s concept artist, Gavin Rothery and of course, director Duncan Jones, looking very much like Obi Wan Kenobi.

If you enjoyed the video, feel free to sign the petition, or learn more about it, by heading to the Man Made Movies blog, or by following @ManMadeMovies on twitter. We’ll find out how successful the campaign has been on 2nd February, when the Oscar nominations are announced.
