Last night was probably the best night in HeyUGuys 11 month history and it wasn’t because we got to see a film we’d been looking forward to seeing, it wasn’t because we were given a massive advertising deal, it was because we got to meet loads of other people who love the same thing we do, movies!
Peter Sciretta from SlashFilm and Alex Billington from FirstShowing are currently in London town to go to all the various press events for Fantastic Mr Fox which has it’s world premiere tonight in London’s Leicester Square. Both the guys are pushed for time as they have events going on throughout the 3 days they are here. That said, they managed to find time last night to organise a meet up for fellow bloggers and readers of their sites combined. So last night, Gary, Laraine, Ben and myself headed off to Soho to a pub called the Nellie Dean to meet Peter and Alex… and as it turned out, a lot more people too!
What was so great about the night was that we also got to meet loads of other people who do what we do and also the people that with connect with on a daily basis. Louisa & Dany from WayToBlue, Cathy from Sound Screen, Saam from Faded Glamour, Guy from Incontention, Melinda from MissGeeky, Emma from Freud and everyone else who I haven’t mentioned here, it was great to meet you all!
Let’s make sure that we organise another meet-up like that again soon.
