Following the brilliant short film, Happy and Glorious, featuring James Bond and the Queen played during the opening ceremony of the Olympics on Friday night, we were treated to a brilliant new thirty-second TV spot for the latest Bond feature hitting the big screen this year, Skyfall.
The second – and likely full-length – trailer will be airing online this afternoon at 2pm (GMT), and we’ve now got a twenty-second teaser sneak peek of it tonight.
“In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Daniel Craig returns once more as the brilliant James Bond, and starring alongside him is the incredibly promising cast headed up by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, and Dame Judi Dench.
Sam Mendes (American Beauty) is making his Bond debut behind the camera, with a script co-written by Bond-frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Coriolanus).
Skyfall will be released in regular and IMAX theatres on 26th October here in the UK, followed by a 9th November release in the US. The few things we’ve seen so far have looked rather brilliant, and we’re sure that this afternoon’s new trailer is going to be raising our anticipation that much higher. For now, enjoy this little sneak peek, and be sure to check back in later for the trailer in its entirety.
