It was revealed at this past weekend’s New York Comic Con that Disney XD’s upcoming Star Wars Rebels will be set fourteen years after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The series will chart the early days of the Rebellion and the rise of the Empire, putting the focus on a new team of teenage Rebels and a mysterious villain called ‘The Inquisitor’ (pictured above).
There are obviously a lot of other characters and moments in Star Wars history that future animated series’ could explore, so here are ten suggestions we think would be a good addition to Disney’s plans for the franchise on the small screen. What do you guys think? Be sure to share your thoughts on these suggestions and your own in the comment section below!
No one really seems all that sure whether or not the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed video games are canon, but those who have played them certainly want them to be.
For those of you who aren’t familiar, they follow the adventures of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice as he plots to overthrow the Emperor. However, Starkiller quickly realises that his path isn’t on the Dark Side of the Force and rebels against his master (his actions actually lead to the formation of the Rebellion). Now, while the character is definitely deserving of his own live action movie, it appears as if Disney are far more interested in expanding upon the origin stories of well-known characters like Yoda and Boba Fett.
So, taking the plot of the games and spreading them across an animated series would be a perfect alternative, while original voice actor Sam Witwer – who has repeatedly shown a huge amount of passion for the character – would surely be up for returning to once again provide the vocals.
